ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-90. S# 42878. Bbl. 26" octagon with original sporting sights. Full length mag. Action has aftermarket hand engraving done in factory No. 10 Style. Left side vignette features a mountain goat. Action, trigger, and forearm cap have an added gold plated finish. Bbl. and mag. tube have reblued finish with added gold lines at breech and muzzle ends of the bbl. Forearm and straight grip stock of fancy walnut with Style H checkering and steel shotgun buttplate. Left inside of lower tang is stamped with assembly # "513" followed by wood grade marking "XX". Top tang channel of stock has no visible marking. CONDITION: bbl., mag. tube, lever, hammer, and buttplate retain over 95% reblued finish with corrosion at the muzzle. Bbl. markings are weak. Caliber marking appears to be restamped. Action has very good gold plated finish. Refinished stock and forearm show light checkering wear with scratches and marks. Butt section of stock has open grain checking. Sound action. Lightly pitted bore retains sound rifling. (01-26769/DS). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
